2.2-5 type Low PIM Connectors
Description
The 2.2-5 RF coaxial connector is a compact, high-performance 50Ω interconnect system standardized per IEC 61169-66. As a miniaturized evolution of the 4.3-10 interface, it reduces footprint by approximately 53% while retaining excellent electrical and mechanical stability. It supports low-loss RF cables up to 1/2 inch and delivers reliable signal transmission with outstanding passive intermodulation (PIM) performance. Available in threaded and push‑pull coupling versions, it enables blind‑mate installation and is widely used in compact high‑frequency RF systems.
Applications
Small cells, micro base stations, and macro base station RF modules
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and in‑building coverage
4G/5G mobile communication equipment and radio units
Broadcast and microwave transmission systems
Compact RF test instruments and dense panel assemblies
Outdoor and harsh‑environment RF connections
Features
Standardized 50Ω impedance, frequency range up to 6 GHz (high‑performance version to 20 GHz)
Ultra‑compact design, 53% smaller than 4.3-10 connectors for high‑density layout
Excellent low PIM performance (typically ≤ −160 dBc @ 2×43 dBm)
Supports up to 1/2” low‑loss RF cables and high power capacity
Threaded / push‑pull coupling options with blind‑mate capability
IP68 waterproof rating when mated for outdoor reliability
Rugged construction, stable performance over ≥100 mating cycles
Wide operating temperature range for harsh environments
